About Julia Quance
I began to paint at the age of 39. My first tutor was the late Gordon Fulkner, former head of an art department in a London University, from whom I received private tuition. Being taught by a professional artist specialising in oils was a good grounding and I still asked his opinion until his death in 2007.
From oils I moved to watercolour and then after a few years I decided to attend college. College was my chance to try out some different mediums as well as exploring modern art. I studied for 5 years, ending with an exploration of 3D art in ceramics.
It has now been over five years since I finished college and I have been using the time to explore my art independently. With no more college briefs, I've had the freedom to explore my own ideas and so the work has evolved into something more personal.
You can can see the results in the gallery.
I have also started an evening art group. 2010 Art. Its being held at The Compasses Inn, Snettisham. 7pm-10pm. Wednesday
